
Ms. Lilia Klochenko, FCIArb, PhD Jur. (Dr.) is an independent international arbitrator with strong and particular focus on commercial arbitration, including international trade, construction and infrastructure, shipping and maritime, insurance and reinsurance, oil, gas and natural resources, metallurgy and mining, environmental, transport and logistics, IT and telecommunications as well as corporate disputes.
Focusing exclusively on arbitration now, she brings to dispute resolution a diverse and deep background, including structuring and supporting transactions, advising on major investment projects across various industries, drafting and supporting the execution of international contracts, developing early warning and risk management systems, including legal risks, early conflict forecasting, and managing dispute resolution processes.
Ms. Klochenko has sat as arbitrator, including as presiding arbitrator, co-arbitrator and sole arbitrator, under the Rules of the ICC, DIS, VIAC, ICAC (MKAS), MAC, RAC, UNCITRAL and other Rules; as well as in ad hoc proceedings. Her appointments include experience in proceedings requiring active procedural management and high procedural discipline within compressed timelines or complex procedural matters, including multiplicities in arbitration.
Being civil law qualified lawyer, Ms. Klochenko is familiarized with common law as well as Islamic finance and principles of Shari’ah.

Ms. Klochenko has experience in successful mediation procedures, including in multi-cultural and multi-jurisdictional cases, in particular, between parties of Russian, German, Austrian, French, Hong Kong, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, Georgian, Tajik, Uzbek, and other origin. Ms. Klochenko has also experience as adjudicator in international disputes, in particular, establishing market share of sales in corporate dispute; establishing the share of the impact of individual hazards on the negative consequences during the execution of works in a construction project. Such experience convergences and enriches Ms. Klochenko’s competences as arbitrator and provides more practical insights into the commercial arbitration ecosystem.
